2026 Holiday Schedule
- New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026
- This is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services.
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, 2026
- This is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services.
- Lincoln’s Birthday, Thursday, February 12, 2026
- Lincoln’s Birthday has been designated as a floating holiday for M/C, UUP, and classified employees. Classes will be in session. Offices will be open for normal operations.
- Washington’s Birthday, Monday, February 16, 2026
- Classes are in session and offices are closed. UUP represented employees will earn a compensatory holiday if they work. M/C and classified employees observe the holiday. With appropriate approval and notification by supervisor, classified employees may work and should mark their time records accordingly.
- Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026
- This is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services.
- Juneteenth, Friday, June 19, 2026
- June 19th is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services
- Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2026 (Friday, July 3, 2026 Liberal Leave Use Approved)
- July 4 is an official state holiday. Since this holiday falls on a Saturday, a compensatory holiday is earned.
Friday, July 3, the College has approved liberal leave use policy for all employees with the exception of essential personnel and essential services. - Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026
- This is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services.
- Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Columbus Day), Monday, October 12, 2026
- Classes are in session and offices are closed. This is designated as a floating holiday for UUP represented employees, which will be observed on Friday, November 27, 2026, consistent with Article 23.5 of the UUP Agreement and Article III Title D of the Policies of the Board of Trustees. M/C and classified employees observe the holiday. With appropriate approval and notification by supervisor, classified employees may work and should mark their time records accordingly.
- Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Classes will be in session. Offices will be open and employees will be expected to report to work. Election Day has been designated as a floating holiday for M/C and classified employees. UUP represented employees will earn a compensatory holiday.

- Classes are in session and offices are closed. UUP represented employees will earn a compensatory holiday if they work. M/C and classified employees observe the holiday. With appropriate approval and notification by supervisor, classified employees may work and should mark their time records accordingly.
- Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026
- This is an official state holiday. The University will be closed with the exception of those employees required to maintain essential services. In addition, the University has approved the liberal use of leave policy for Wednesday, November 25, 2026 and Friday, November 27, 2026.

- UUP represented employees should charge the Columbus Day Floating Holiday on this date as designated by the President
