All graduates can designate a "special person" — such as family members, coaches or a favorite professor — who has been instrumental in helping them achieve their higher education goals. This individual's name will be read along with the student's name as the student walks across the stage at the Commencement ceremony. Special person designations should be related to the graduate's SUNY Cortland experience.
Special person submissions and edits can be made within the Commencement software system, Tassel. While signing up in the Tassel system, students can enter their special person in the "Special Person Recognition" field shown in the photo below:
