Ute Ritz-Deutch
Ute Ritz-Deutch, History Department, was presented with the “Amnesty International Keeper of the Flame Activism Award” for the northeast region. At the annual regional conference, which took place on Nov. 15 in Providence, Rhode Island, she also led a workshop on “How to create a Human Rights Podcast.” She hosts a weekly one-hour talk radio show on WRFI community radio in Ithaca, N.Y., called “The Human Rights and Social Justice Program.” The award was partly based on that. She has more than 260 podcasts on Soundcloud.

Tyler Bradway, English Department, was invited to present a keynote lecture at Cornell University for the English Department’s Graduate Student Conference, which was held on March 15 and 16. His lecture was titled “Queer Narrative Theory and the Belongings of Form.”

Genevieve Birren, Sport Management Department, gave an invited presentation on the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act at the National Sports Law Institute's Fall Symposium held Oct. 15 at Marquette University Law School.
Lindsey Darvin
Lindsey Darvin, Sport Management Department, had a publication titled “Voluntary occupational turnover and the experiences of former intercollegiate women assistant coaches” published in October in the Journal of Vocational Behavior.
Jordan Kobritz
Jordan Kobritz, Sport Management Department, was quoted in an NBC news article on ballpark netting after a young girl was struck by a foul ball during a Yankees-Twins game at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 20.
Kevin Dames
Kevin Dames, Kinesiology Department and Sutton Richmond from the University of Florida had their article titled “A static posturography guide to implementing time-to-boundary” published in the Journal of Biomechanics. This work summarizes the state-of-the-field in time to boundary methodology, interpretation, and application for postural stability assessments. As a supplement, they also share a full MATLAB script and sample data to produce the outcome for universal access to the methodology, a resource hitherto not available. Lack of comprehensive, transparent methodology presentation in past literature has limited comparisons among studies or feasibility of establishing normative data given possibility of dissimilar data processing routines.

Brittany Adams, Literacy Department, had an article, “Himpathy, Herasure, and Down Girl Moves: A Critical Content Analysis of Sexual Assault in Young Adult Literature,” published Aug. 1 in Journal of Literacy Research.
Lisa Kahle
Lisa Kahle, Campus Technology Services, completed a week-long intensive leadership program, from June 12 to 17. The Leading Change Institute Program is described as engaging leaders who seek to further develop their skills for the benefit of higher education. Robert Spitzer
Robert Spitzer, Political Science Department, presented a paper titled, “Gun Law History in the U.S. and Second Amendment Rights,” at a conference on The Second Amendment: Legal and Policy Issues, held at the New York University Law School on April 8 in New York City. The conference was co-sponsored by the Brennan Center for Justice.
Hilary Izatt
Hilary Izatt, Political Science Department, has been informed that her article, “Asymmetry of Power and Attention in Alliance Relations: The US-ROK Case,” has been accepted for publication in the Australian Journal of International Affairs, to be published in 2016. Izatt co-authored the article with Gi Wook Shin and Renni Moon.
